24/03/2019 PANGBOURNE TWINNING ASSOCIATION FRENCH FILM NIGHT - THE MIDWIFE

Midwife Claire is conscientious and hardworking, but inhibited and somewhat stuck in a rut. After years of looking after others, is she a little left behind? Then she gets an unexpected phone call from her father’s former lover, Béatrice, a capricious free spirit, who walked out on Claire’s father many years ago. Circumstances bring flighty Béatrice and uptight Claire together. One is forced to consider her responsibilities, while the other finally learns to let go of her troubles. The film stars two great French actors Catherine Deneuve and Catherine Frot, who act together for the very first time in this bright and charming drama about old acquaintance and new beginnings.
