13/07/2018 FRIDAY 13th GHOST HUNT AT THE OLD LAMB

Ghost Hunter Tours head into to The very haunted Old Lamb Hotel in Theale This FRIDAY THE 13TH to Investigate the many years of reported paranormal activity of this location. Your tour should you be brave enough to sign up will feature a full blown ghost hunt with our medium & paranormal investigator and they will be doing their very best to contact any spirits that are reported to be at the location and with its history and eye witness reports a good night should be ahead for you - that is if you are brave enough !! A brief history built in 1487 as an original coaching house and is one of the oldest buildings in the area. It has had many years of paranormal activity and sightings and one of the most famous visitors at the location was Dick Turpin.

14/07/2018 SOUTH BERKSHIRE SINGERS SUMMER CONCERT

South Berkshire Singers will be hosting an evening of music to suit all tastes on Saturday, 14th July 2018. Under the direction of Musical Director Karen Phillips, the choir will commence the programme by singing Carmina Burana, Carl Orff's rousing piece accompanied by a variety of percussion instruments. The second half of the programme includes music by Lennon and McCartney, Eric Whitacre, Bach as well as songs from the ever popular musical Les Miserables.

Small urban gardeners' garden with mature tree fern walkway and many unusual hostas, ornamental grasses and plants. Overflowing herbaceous borders and rose bed, using mainly patio roses. New and developing are the vertical garden and the Heuchera Tapestry bed. The garden also features stained glass and ceramic art to complete the picture. Owner is a previous BBC Gardener of the Year finalist.

Experience Greys Court in a new way throughout July, with art classes happening every Wednesday. Book on now to avoid missing out. Artist Paul Robbens will take a group of 10 around Greys Court, to various locations, helping them to capture the beauty of Greys Court in a more creative way. Each week a different technique will be taught.

20/07/2018 to 22/07/2018 FLANDERS FIELDS - A FESTIVAL OF REMEMBRANCE FOR WORLD WAR 1

The church will be transformed into a commemorative garden designed to provide information and contemplation to mark the end of World War One. Supported by local branches of the Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes, you will be able to donate to these two organisations, whilst reflecting through plants and flowers the horrors of War. Informative displays, poems and much more will guide you through the experience. The festival starts on Friday evening at 7.30 with an Organ Recital played by Tim Munday, on an organ donated in memory of Mj. George Beaumont-Tyser who fell on the 6 July 1916. The church will then be open on Saturday 21 July between the hours of 10am to 4pm. On Sunday a Festival Communion Service will be led by the Bishop of Reading at 10am, with the church opening again at 12noon until 4pm when a choral service of Evensong will round off the event.
